The Equus an Aqua Boutique Hotel is located about a mile from the center of Waikiki's world-class shopping. The enormous and popular Ala Moana Shopping Center (shopping and dining) is one block in the other direction.
A recent renovation (November 2007) showcases the owner’s love for horses and the sport of polo. Paintings and photographs in the lobby convey the story of the horse in Hawaii, and Ralph Lauren polo-inspired decor continues the equestrian theme.
A complimentary manager’s reception every Tuesday offers guests and hotel staff a chance to mingle over a tropical cocktail. Daily complimentary Continental breakfast includes fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, and juice. Morning newspapers are complimentary.
Guests have use of a gas barbecue grill beside the narrow outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by tropical foliage and blooming color.

This intimate, boutique hotel features 68 guestrooms in a 10-story building. The Equus an Aqua Boutique Hotel renovated its rooms (November 2007) around the hotel’s equestrian theme. Ralph Lauren polo-inspired decor includes framed photos of polo scenes and dark-wood furnishings. Some rooms sport distinctly tropical bamboo furnishings.
Complimentary amenities in all guestrooms include local calls, use of in-room safes, and wireless and wired high-speed Internet access.
Rooms also offer stainless-steel refrigerators, coffeemakers, and marble vanities.
